Polish Pope

October 16, 1978 - In a city where butter lambs abound at Easter and Dyngus Day is celebrated jubilantly, the naming of the first Polish Pope in 455 years made front page news.  One can almost hear echoes of the area's nearly 150,000 Polish residents raising a collective cheer of "Na Zdrowie!" while reading about the new Pope who felt 'At Home' in Buffalo.
